Italy scored better marks with foreign tourists in 2014 than it did in 2013, the Bank of Italy said Thursday.
Last year the country garnered a vote of 8.6 from overseas visitors according to an annual survey carried out by Italy's central bank on the basis of interviews conducted at ports, airports and railway stations across the country.
This compared with a score of 8.3 the year before.
The highest marks - between 8 and 9 - went to Italy's traditional 'assets' - its art cities, landscape and food.
Prices instead scored 6.9.
Russians and Americans were most generous in their evaluation of the country, while Chinese nationals were more cautious.
